Motorcycle Accidents
Motorcycle accidents can be very different from vehicle accidents. Since motorcycles are smaller and lighter than other vehicles and do not enclose the rider, riding a motorcycle is riskier than riding in a vehicle.
There are unique risks to riding a motorcycle: A rider is less visible to other vehicles as motorcycles are smaller and easily hidden by other objects. Road hazards such as uneven road surfaces, wet pavement or debris on the road can add to the injuries caused in a motorcycle accident. There is no barrier between the rider and the road and no seat belts or airbags.
To lessen the risks of injuries wearing a helmet, jacket, pants, long-sleeved shirt, gloves and closed shoes can offer some protection.
