Have You Been Involved In A Motorcycle Accident?

Derek Merman

Serving Gulf Coast Motorcycle Riders

Derek Merman graduated from Baylor University in 1998 with a B.S. in Biology. He attended law school at the University of Houston law Center where he graduated cum laude in 2004.

Derek was raised by his mother on their ranch near Waco, Texas after his father died in a plane accident when he was six-years-old; as a result of that tragedy, Derek is compassionate with his clients and passionate about his work for the injured and those that have lost loved-ones due to the negligence of others.  Derek understands tragedy and, as a rider, understands how often and how horrible motorcycle wrecks can be.  He knows first hand that when a car or truck hits a motorcycle, it’s not a fair fight and the results can forever impact the rider and his or her family.

Derek focuses his practice on motorcycle wrecks caused by the negligence and inattention of motorists who fail to give riders the respect and room they deserve. He has represented bikers in cases involving death, lost limbs & head injuries, as well as lay down and road rash cases.  There is no case too big or too small – if you’re a biker and you got hurt because of someone’s inattention or recklessness, the Merman Motorcycle Lawyers want to help.   We also speak Spanish.

Derek is married to Shana Merman; they have three children, Gretchen, Clara and James Bruce. They attend St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Houston. They enjoy fishing, hiking, riding,  and eating good Texas BBQ. The Merman family supports several charities locally and nationally focused on education and helping people that have suffered recent tragedy. The firm was founded in 2008 with the express purpose of treating clients like family and giving injured people a powerful advocate.
